SharePoint is part of Microsoft Office 365 and can be used similarly to OneDrive. As SharePoint sites are not associated with any one user’s account, they may be suitable for large or long-term collaborations, with access persisting even when users leave the University. It has additional features for collaboration, so it can provide ways of managing research workflows and communications.
Records Managed SharePoint is a customised version of SharePoint that has been developed by the University for the compliant management of records, including research records. This is only available to University of Melbourne staff.
Available at no cost to all University of Melbourne researchers, including graduate research students.
