Melbourne Institute Data Lab

The Melbourne Institute manages a wide range of government, NGO and private sector stakeholders, and home to primary data sources, including:

- The Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey
- The Consumer Attitudes, Sentiments and Expectations in Australia (CASiE) Survey
- The Medicine in Australia: Balancing Employment and Life (MABEL) Survey
- Journeys Home: A Longitudinal Study of Factors Affecting Housing Stability.

We developed the Melbourne Institute Secure Environment (MISE) to provide the highest standards of data protection. It is a purpose-built state-of-the-art facility that complies with Australian Government security conditions, including the Attorney-General’s Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the Australian Signals Directorate’s Information Security Manual (ISM). It allows both remote and offline access while protecting data from unauthorised use.
